Never have I been on a trip with such little preparation or time to think, 4:00 PM Tuesday,” Ooh! We should go on a trip!” and then, at 8:00 PM Wednesday, we were already on the bus, hurtling towards Mysore.

It was just me and my cousin, this was the first time we were going on a trip alone, and with so little time, and the fact that we hadn’t even booked a hotel, I was kinda anxious, but also extremely excited because NO ADULTS to supervise us!
The first thing we did as soon as we got off the bus, was look for a hotel, we had a couple in mind so we just walked in that direction and kept an eye on any good hotels on the way. We saw one, and decided to go in, and I started to lose hope the moment we stepped foot in the door, for that dingy ass place, they were asking for 1200 a night, our budget was 900 MAX. So we kept going, and then we found Aishwarya Residency, it cost 800 a night, the rooms were kinda tiny, but super clean, and nice looking, so we booked a room, dumped our bags, and left for Mysore Palace. That was mostly uneventful except for the abandoned subway entrance we found on the way, but then in the evening, we decided to just roam around to explore the city, and we found a beautiful cathedral, and an amazing wood fired pizza place, roaming around like this, is one of the things that I loved about this trip, we didn’t know where we were going, where we were gonna eat, we had no real itinerary, we just went with the flow!

The next day consisted mainly of Mysore zoo, I loved sketching there, and even through jagrav’s constant bickering about walking so much, it was a lot of fun. We planned to leave by a bus at 3pm, and the rest of the day consisted of spending an hour just looking for a place to eat, checking out, roaming around randomly for a bit, picking up our stuff from the hotel, and then onwards to the bus station, and back home!

This trip was amazing! Not just because of what happened on the trip, but also the idea of it, me and my cousin went on a trip alone! It just makes me so excited, and I look forward to future trips that evolve from this season.
