This blog is a continuation of my last blog, if you haven’t read it, you can go check it out here, you don’t have to read it to understand this one, but just a disclaimer. With that out of the way, this blog is about my hands-on experience with my new Huion Kamvas pro.

The box

Even though it’s a pretty unexciting thing for most products, the moment I saw this box, I was blown away, I mean, there was nothing that special about it, it was just a standard cardboard box, but just the clean white box with an awe-inspiring artwork on top looks pretty cool.

The inside

The inside of the box was like Pandora’s box to me, so much to take in, the pen, the drawing glove, the stand, and of course the tablet itself, I didn’t know what to unpack first. It also includes a pen holder with extra nibs inside of it, a three-way cord, a couple of manuals, and a microfiber cleaning cloth.

The tablet

I talked about all the specs of this tablet in my last blog, I am just gonna skip that. I had watched a few reviews that said that the matte film sometimes comes off when you are peeling the plastic coating on the screen, so when I was doing that, I noticed two layers, so I only took out the first one, but lo and behold, the second one was the glue for the plastic thingy, and the matte film was underneath that, so I had to painstakingly scrape all of it off the screen with my fingers, so beware of that too.

I set up my stand, and rested the tablet on it, followed by plugging in the 3-in-1 cable into my tablet and laptop, I didn’t have to plug in the third red cable into a wall socket, but you might need to do that if your tablet doesn’t provide sufficient energy.

The screen and responsiveness of the tablet are amazing, it has a 120% SRGB color gamut range, and the visuals on it are amazing. The express keys are a big plus, and after a bit of tinkering, I was able to find the perfect set of shortcuts for them. The pen is a PW517, and even though it is pretty light making it feel a little cheap, it works like a charm, and all of this combined with the matte film to give it a paper texture gives you an amazing drawing experience.
